Public to quiz council leader online

The leader of Dudley Council will again be in the hot seat in a live broadcast interview, taking questions from people online.

Councillor Patrick Harley will be taking questions on a range of subjects via Facebook live.

People online will be able to pick the topics to put to the leader, which could include anything from multi-million pound metro proposals to issues with bin collections.

He will be interviewed by the deputy leader of the council, Councillor David Vickers on Thursday March 15, from 6-7pm. Facebook-users will be able to type their questions into the comments box and get an answer within minutes from Cllr Harley. Councillor Patrick Harley, leader of the council, said:

“This is about giving residents, business and community groups more access to information than ever before. Results from the previous leader’s live sessions show that people have lots of questions and lots of ideas.

"It’s great to see people taking the time to discuss these with us. We try and help where we can and put people in touch with relevant organisations. We will be live for an hour so get their questions ready for then.”

The live broadcast is part of a series of community forums throughout March. The last ones take place on March 20. Amblecote, Cradley and Wollescote, Lye and Stourbridge North Community Forum takes place at Withymoor Primary School, Gayfield Avenue, Brierley Hill. Gornal, Upper Gornal and Woodsetton Community Forum will also be on March 20 at The Royal British Legion, Ruiton Street, Dudley. Both start at 6.30pm.
