Road Resurfacing To Start In July

Resurfacing work on Thorns Road is to start next month.

The essential resurfacing work, which is part of Dudley Council’s ongoing road maintenance programme, will improve the northbound carriageway of the A4036 Thorns Road from Caledonia to Mount Pleasant.

The scheme is scheduled to run from Friday 1 July to Friday 8 July, but is weather dependent. The work will take place in restricted hours between 9.30am and 3.30pm, using lane closures to minimise disruption. Traffic management operatives will be on hand to help motorists access frontages where safe to do so.

Contact has already been made with Old Park School and Thorns Primary School to ensure that any disruption to their access is minimised. Councillor Hilary Bills, cabinet member for environmental services, said:

“This work is part of our ongoing maintenance programme to improve the standard of our roads.

“We are undertaking the work during off-peak times in order to minimise disruption, but we would ask people to bear with us while we undertake this essential maintenance.”
