Rob Smith and Larry Chambers leave Halesowen Town with immediate effect

(L-R) Assistant Player Manager, Asa Charlton and Player Manager, Lee Hughes.

Club bosses have announced a new management duo to see the team through to the end of the season.

Smith and Chambers parted ways with The Yeltz by mutual consent after their 18 games in charge produced just two wins and ten points, leaving the club second bottom in the Evo-Stik League South Premier Division Central.

Striker, Lee Hughes, has been appointed as first team Player Manager until the end of the season.

Joining Lee in the dugout, and returning to the Yeltz as Assistant Player Manager, is Asa Charlton, along with Craig 'Chopper' Harris who will join Lee Brown and Richard Evans-Hadley on the coaching staff. A club spokseperson said:

“Lee's first game in charge will be the crucial home game against Hitchin Town on Saturday.

”We hope that you will all continue your fantastic support and get behind Lee and his team following this announcement.

”We wish Rob and Larry the best of luck in the future.”
