Sandwell announces full reopening of libraries

Sandwell's libraries are to reopen.

Sandwell Council plans to have all libraries return to full opening hours by Monday 1 November 2021.

Sandwell’s libraries already offer browsing and Order and Collect services as well as access to computers and study spaces when booked in advance.

For those who would prefer to maintain greater social distance, they can still reserve items using the website, or by phoning one of the libraries. Library staff will then contact customers when items are available to arrange a date and time for collection.

The Archive Service has also reopened by appointment only. Sandwell Council’s Deputy Leader, Councillor Maria Crompton said:

“Libraries are important hubs for our local communities to be educated and entertained so I am pleased that the service will be fully available again from November 1.

"Residents can also go online to browse and reserve the book of their choice to pick up at a time to suit them.”

To book, please call 0121 569 4985. Library customers are also reminded that Oldbury Library has relocated from Jack Judge House to Sandwell Council House.
