Shoppers at intu Merry Hill to help break World Records this weekend

intu Merry Hill is giving shoppers from across Birmingham and the Black Country the chance to attempt three official Guiness World Records titles over a two-day event on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th August.

Official Guiness World Records adjudicators will be present from 10am-4pm on Saturday and 11am-4pm on Sunday as families attempt the following three records:

  • Most beach balls caught blindfolded in one minute
  • Fastest time to complete a giant connect four board
  • and most plastic bottles thrown into a target in 30 seconds

Locals are being invited to try out the three Guiness World Records titles and those at the top of the leader board will then be able to attempt to break an official record. Robert Pickersgill, marketing manager at intu Merry Hill, said:

“This is a unique opportunity for families to attempt to set their very own GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title, and bag bragging rights amongst their friends and family!

“Hosting free and exciting events as part of intu’s new Family Club brings people together and is all a part of our commitment to make shoppers happier and to create long-lasting memories.

"The giant connect four and blind-folded catch records are fun family activities and the bottle throwing record is a great way to encourage more people to recycle, whilst also putting smiles on the faces of our visitors.”
