Still Time To Sign Up And Help Raise Funds For Dudley Zoo

Dudley Zoo visitors are being urged to take a walk on the wild side to help raise funds for a new enclosure for the Bornean orangutans.

The 5km sponsored walk will take place on May 6th, the Castle Hill attraction's 80th anniversary.

Supporters are invited to dress to impress in 1930/40s gear or fancy dress for the trek around the 40-acre site, before joining staff for a party in the castle courtyard, where there will be birthday cake and entertainment by vocal harmony singers, The Glamophones.

Walkers will be helping the zoo raise money for its ambitious anniversary appeal to raise £800,000 for a new separate outdoor space for its much-loved great apes. Andrea Hales, the zoo’s marketing manager, said:

“Our anniversary is fast approaching and we’re looking forward to marking the zoo’s past 80 years, celebrating our present and fundraising for our future projects.”

The walk starts at 11am and registration, which includes zoo admission, costs £6 per adult and £3 per child.

Up to four spectators per participant will be admitted at a discounted rate of £7 per person, which need to be purchased prior to the date.
