Stourbidge man cleared of rape

A 24-year-old Stourbridge man accused of raping a woman in Kidderminster has been found not guilty.

Charles Hughes, from Scotts Road, stood trial at Worcester Crown Court accused of assaulting the 21-year-old woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

The court heard he was invited into the woman’s flat but he denied the offence which was alleged to have taken place in April last year.

Hughes was also cleared of attempted rape.
