Stourbridge MP to hold careers evening

Stourbridge MP, and Business Minister, Margot James is hosting her next Aspirations Event this Friday at the Glasshouse College in Stourbridge.

The careers evening gives local young people the chance to participate in a series of workshops, seminars and networking fairs – all designed to inspire them to fulfil their potential.

The event will take place from 4:30pm to 6:30pm and will be a chance for students to network with a number of businesses and organisations, as well as attending workshops on topics such as apprenticeships and the job application process. Past events have seen a large turnout, with both students and parents giving positive feedback on both the diversity of organisations attending and the information on offer.

Previous attendees have included businesses such as Barclays, Waitrose, West Midlands Police, Teach First and the Civil Service Fast Stream. Speaking about the event, Margot said:

“My Aspirations programme is designed to give local students the chance to find out more information about education and career opportunities post-16. Whether going to university, becoming an apprentice or training for a job, I want every young person in Stourbridge to fulfil their potential.

"I am very much looking forward to meeting local students and parents at this event, which I hope will be incredibly helpful for them.”
