A range of swimming lessons for all ages start next week at Dudley Leisure Centre, with places still available for people to book.

The lessons start from Monday 6th September and cater for all ages and abilities, from parent and toddler sessions through to pre-school, junior and adult lessons. They will take place in either the main pool or the teaching pool at the Wellington Road site under the supervision of qualified and experienced swimming instructors.

Parent and toddler fun swimming sessions start on Thursday 9th September and will then run every Thursday from 10.05am to 10.50am during school term-time. They offer an excellent introduction to swimming incorporating nursery rhymes and soft toys, allowing little ones to develop water confidence in a fun and relaxed environment. It costs £5.60 per session, with a 50 per cent discount available for Options+ leisure card holders.

Pre-school swimming lessons cater for children aged three and four and a block booking of £72.80 (50% discount for Options+ members) will secure 13 lessons running for 30 minutes each. Pre-booking is required and starting next week, they run on Wednesdays at 11.30am, Thursdays at 12.45pm and Fridays at 2.15pm.

Junior swimming lessons are also available for children aged five and above, from beginners through to intermediate and advanced levels. The course of 13 half-hour lessons costs £72.80 (50% discount for Options+ members) and pre-booking is required. Lessons start next week and will run on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3.30pm to 7pm, and Saturdays from 8am to 12.30pm.

Adult swimming lessons are available for those aged 16 and above looking to improve their swimming skills. Lessons are available for non and weak swimmers, as well as for people looking to improve their technique. The course runs for 13 weeks with one half-hour session per week. The course costs £72.80 (50% discount for Options+) and must be pre-booked in advance. Lessons start next week and run on Thursdays from 12.45pm to 1.15pm term time only.

Finally, a five-day intensive swimming course will take place during the October half term holidays (Monday 25 to Friday 29 October) The course is suitable for pre-school children aged three and four years old and for junior beginners aged five years and above. The thirty-minute pre-school lessons will take place at 9am and the junior lessons between 9.30am and 11am. The course costs £28 (50% discount for Options+ members) and pre-booking is required.
