Teenage girl dies in Pensnett RTC

A 17-year-old girl has died in a road traffic collision in Pensnett in the early hours of this morning.

West Midlands Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service were both called to Tansey Green Road just after midnight this morning (Thursday) after a car collided with a wall.

An ambulance, a paramedic officer, trauma doctor and critical care paramedic all attended the scene. Crews arrived to find a car that had overturned. Sadly, nothing could be done to save one occupant, a 17-year-old teenage girl, and she was confirmed dead at the scene.

He was arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving and drink driving and taken to Russells Hall Hospital for further checks. He remains in police custody. Sergeant Alan Hands from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said:

“We are in the early stages of our investigation and would encourage anyone with information to get in touch. The family of the teenager are being supported by specialist officers and are thoughts are with them at this difficult time.”
