Teenage Market Returns To The Black Country

Wordsley’s Red House Glass Cone is preparing to welcome the Teenage Market on Saturday 25th March.

It’s the third time that the market has been hosted by the visitor attraction with stalls for 13 to 23 year olds to include jewellery, trinkets, cakes, sweets, photography, greetings cards, crafts and bunting. Visitors can stock up on gifts just in time for Mother’s Day.

There are still a handful of slots for stall holders and performers. The last day to register for a place is Monday 13 March. All crafts and businesses are welcome, although organisers are no longer able to accept any more stalls selling baked goods or confectionery. Cllr Khurshid Ahmed, cabinet member for planning and economic development said:

“I am delighted that we are running more Teenage Markets. They provide an excellent opportunity for young people to learn about marketing, selling and performing, while gaining confidence and independence.

“Scores of teenagers have already enjoyed being part of the borough’s Teenage Market success and I hope that even more will reap the benefit this spring.”

The Teenage Market is a growing nationwide initiative and is being hosted as part of Dudley Council’s Love Your Community focus. To book a stall or a performing slot, go to theteenagemarket.co.uk

The Red House Glass Cone, High Street, Wordsley, is usually open 10am to 3pm Monday to Friday and 11am to 4pm at the weekends. The cone will open from 10am to 4pm on both days of the market. Admission is free.
