The Big Names Keep Coming At Dudley Town Hall

Comedy legend, David Baddiel, is the latest name to join an amazing roster of comedians visiting the region in the next 12 months.

The comic, who is also a novelist and TV presenter, is perhaps best known for his long-running partnership with Frank Skinner on shows such as Fantasy Football League and Baddiel and Skinner Unplanned.

Baddiel, 52, is taking his critically-acclaimed show My Family: Not The Sitcom on a national tour after performing to rave reviews in London’s West End. One of the dates will be in Dudley, with Baddiel set to appear at the town hall on April 27 next year.

Tickets will go on sale at 10am on Friday and are expected to be snapped up quickly. Alex Jackson, of Dudley Borough Halls, said:

“We're absolutely thrilled that David is bringing his Olivier-nominated show, which has received countless rave reviews, to Dudley Town Hall.

“David is a colossus of British comedy and we can't wait to welcome him to Dudley.”

The one-man confessional show is a true story about Baddiel’s recently deceased mother and dementia-suffering father. It has been dubbed a “massively disrespectful celebration” of the lives of the comic’s parents. He has already performed a sold-out run at London’s Menier Chocolate Factory and two critically-acclaimed West End runs. In March it was announced the show had been nominated for an Olivier award, in the entertainment and family category.

As well as Baddiel, the likes of Jason Manford, Jenny Eclair, Paul Chowdhry and Milton Jones are all performing at Dudley Town Hall in the coming months.

Doors for Baddiel’s show will open at 6.45pm on the night, with the show starting around 7.30pm. Tickets are £25.50 plus booking fees and are available at boroughhalls.co.uk or by calling the box office on 01384 812812.
