Top politicians set for live online questions

The leader and deputy leader of Dudley Council will be back in the hot seat answering questions from people in a live video broadcast.

The live question and answers session will be broadcast in a live video link via the council’s Dudley Borough Facebook page on July 10th.

Councillor Patrick Harley, leader of the council, and Councillor David Vickers, deputy leader of the council, will be taking questions from people from 6-7pm. It is part of the ongoing series of community forums which are open to the public to discuss ideas and issues affecting their communities with elected members.

The live Facebook forums have proved popular with people, with thousands of people heading online to quiz the pair. Councillor Harley said:

"The forums are just one way we speak to people directly and find out what ideas they have or issues in their communities that we can take action on.

"It is really important people get in touch about what works well, what needs developing or to discuss ideas where we can work together to improve our communities.

"The live Facebook sessions are always very popular and we do all we can to get through as many questions as possible in the time.”

People can watch the live broadcast by video on the night, and can also ask questions by adding them to the comments box under the post. The video is also shared on YouTube following the live session for people to watch.

There are a number of community forums running until June 25th, all starting at 6.30pm.
