Trains delayed after pedestrian falls from bridge near Cradley Heath Station

Rail services were held up after emergency services were called to a road bridge, near to Cradley Heath station, after reports of a man falling onto the tracks.

Police and ambulance services were present, with a British Transport Police spokesperson saying a man had fallen from a nearby road bridge. He was taken to hospital and treated for his injuries. A spokesman for the Force said:

"The incident was reported to police at 3:41pm. Officers attended Maypole Hill in Cradley Heath, along with paramedics, following a report of a body been seen line-side. 

"Paramedics treated the man at scene and he was later transported to hospital where he was treated for his injuries."

National Rail said services between Birmingham Snow Hill and Kidderminster were affected, but returned to normal after some minor delays.
