Two World Record titles smashed at intu Merry Hill

Four people from across the Midlands are now current official Guiness World Rrecords title holders after attending a two-day event at intu Merry Hill.

Rachael and Tom Davies from Kingswinford now hold the title for Fastest time to complete a giant connect four board (team of two), which was completed in 57.49 seconds, whilst Arun and Reuben Jones from Lincoln are now world record title holders for Most beach balls caught blindfolded in one minute (team of two), which was an impressive 29.

A total of 55 people took part in the challenge at intu Merry Hill for their chance to set an official Guinness title and bag bragging rights amongst their friends and family. Rachael Davies said:

“Getting the chance to set a world record isn’t something you’d usually expect to achieve when visiting your local shopping centre.

“The atmosphere at intu Merry Hill was brilliant and it was great to see people of all ages and ability try their hand at the different challenges. Completing a Connect Four board will definitely be my party trick now.”

Robert Pickersgill, marketing manager at intu Merry Hill, added: “Our events programme is all about bringing families together and setting Guinness World Record titles was a fantastic way to do that.

“Our overarching goal is to make sure that our shoppers are happier and hosting fun, free events as part of intu’s new Family Club is just one of the ways we’re helping families create long-lasting memories at our centre.”
