A winter themed exhibition by the designer makers at the Red House Glass Cone opens this week.

The Dudley Council owned Red House Glass Cone is hosting the Walking in a Winter Wonderland exhibition which features work by ten of the site’s resident artists. The exhibition will feature work in cases around in a wintery scene, complete with scattered leaves, snowflakes and snow covered branches.

It features Teresa Mattens’s hand crafted jewellery in precious metal clays, silver and gold;  Tania Holland’s mixed media collages and sculptures, and her trademark Wordplay Menagerie, a light- hearted collection of animal designs including illuminated and decoupaged deer; Beverley Bernhard Bridges’ hand painted and dyed silk scarves and cards;  Nadia Wood’s Jam Jar Crafts and wedding service, featuring handmade quirky cards and up-cycled items; Tandem Crafts knitted, crocheted and hand-sewn goodies including stuffed dragons and unicorns; Saz’s Ceramics hand painted pottery; Josephine Tournebize’s  jewellery in silver and gold and finally Glass Quarter Designs which features work by Charlotte Hughes Martin, a hot glass artist specialising in engraving  sculpture and glass casting, Jane Ellis’ fused glass pieces and Sarah Jones’s lamp worked glass beads.

Glassmaking in the hot glass studio continues at the weekends between 12.30 – 3.30pm and the onsite studios and coffee shop will be open for business.

Santa will also be on site Santa on December 10th, 11th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd from 10am until 3.30pm and costs £7.75 per child including a craft, £5.40 for babes in arms too young for the craft. Booking is essential on 01384 812381 or 01384 815571.
