A court’s heard how a Dudley woman trapped a Sedgley sex offender by pretending to be her 11-year-old granddaughter.

36 year-old Robert Hadley groomed the schoolgirl and asked for photographs of her in a state of undress, before attempting to arrange a meeting.

But the child’s grandmother intercepted the messages he’d been sending to her phone, Wolverhampton Crown Court was told.

Hadley was made the subject of a 10 year sexual harm prevention order and told he must register as a sex offender for life.
