Weekend sport round-up

In football, Stourbridge kept up the pace with the Evo-Stik Northern Premier play-off chasers at the weekend with a 2-1 win over Mickleover Sports.

Halesowen conceded a late penalty as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Buxton, while Tividale drew 3-3 with Market Drayton in the First Division South.

Kidderminster lost a two-goal lead as they were held 2-2 by Chester in the National League, while Lye lost 4-0 at home to Stourport in the Midland Football League.

In the West Midlands Premier, Cradley drew 1-1 at Willenhall, Dudley Town drew 3-3 at home with Malvern, but Black Country Rangers lost 4-1 at home to Bridgnorth.

There was even worse news for Tipton, who were hammered 5-0 at home by Haughmond, while Dudley Sports’ match at Stone Old Alleynians was postponed.

Finally in rugby, Stourbridge beat South Leicester 12-6 in National League Two North, while Old Halesonians won 10-8 against Birmingham & Solihull in National League Three Midlands.

But in Midlands Division One West, Dudley Kingswinford lost 26-24 at home to Crewe & Nantwich.
