In football, Halesowen scored twice in the final 20 minutes as they beat Ilkeston 2-0 in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier on Saturday.

Stourbridge’s match at Frickley was called off, while in the First Division South, Tividale lost 3-1 at Coalville.

In the National League, Kidderminster recovered from 2-0 down, but went on to lose 3-2 at Torquay, while Lye’s match at Bardon Hill in the Midland Football League was postponed.

In the West Midlands Premier, Dudley Town were hammered 4-0 at home by Bridgnorth, while Gornal lost 2-1 at Wellington.

Matches involving Dudley Sports, Black Country Rangers, Cradley and Tipton were all called off.

In rugby, Stourbridge beat Sedgley Park 15-7 in National League Two North, while Dudley Kingswinford lost 35-14 at Hereford in Midlands Division One West.

Old Halesonians’ National League Three Midlands game against Hinckley fell victim to the weather.
