Yeltz rule the roost in #Number9Derby

Halesowen Town triumphed in the Evo-Stik premiership Number 9 Derby yesterday, beating Stourbridge 2-0 in front of a crowd of over 2,000 at the Grove.

Yeltz striker Dan Sweeney found the target in the 38th minute, and Dumitru Chiriac struck home again in the 80th. Stourbridge were further frustrated when Karl Hawley missed a penalty in the 1st half.

The result was a missed opportunity for the Glassboys, as Workington, who are 2 points above them in the league, lost 3-0 to leaders Blyth Spartans.

In other results, Kidderminster Harriers were beaten 2-0 at home by Tranmere Rovers in the National League, and Tividale also suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Romulus in the Evo-Stik 1st division south.

Tonight, there are games for Cradley Town who play Shawbury Utd, and Gornal Athletic are away at Wolverhampton Casuals.

Finally, in speedway, Cradley Heathens got the National League season off to a flying start when they beat Bell Vue Colts at Monmore Green last night; The Heathens defeated the visitors by 51 points to 39.
