Omma and Chain Buskin' for Charity

Hello  all, Are we all warming up ? Time always seems to race away with us and i'd like to  to tell you all about  this years  main project i am involved with through Black Country Radio and the Omma n Chain Show. I/we ( John Langford and Bren Hawthorne ) try to use our work and platform to support as many local groups as we are able. It could be Action Heart Dudley, Sutton School among others. We do however have a focus charity each year. This year Pete Brookes and Ray Andrews contacted me and asked if could help raise funds for Parkinsons UK( a charity close to their heart. We met with them and Gayle from the charity   to explain we would help all we could  but would like ( this matched Ray's thoughts)  the funds to support local Black Country and Bummigum groups ). That on board we began to organise  The Omma N Chain Buskin  for Charity events. You may have seen them advertised or been to one already. They range from free nights at various venues to buskin' at places like Tescos at Burnt Tree. Along with that i always bring out a compilation cd of tracks donated by local performers who have been on the Omma. Bostas 4 is out now with awide variety of contributors . Bev Pegg, Pete Boddis, John Langford, Bren Hawthorne and many more. All profits go to our Buskin for Parkinsons fund and will help groups and individuals affected by the illness. If anyone would like a cd ( they are Bostas) catch one of the events ( use given e mail) or send a cheque for 4.00 made payable to B Dakin  to Billy 53 Midhill Drive Rowley Regis B65 9SG. Thanks to the radio for giving me the space and please help us make a difference to somebody's life. For info b.dakin@aston.ac.uk. Thanks Billy
