Show Guest Useful Information
Thank you for agreeing to be a guest on Black Country Radio.
If you're reading this page, it's likely this is your first time on the station - and possibly on the radio. If that's the case, try not to worry - whether its in person or remotely, it's just like talking to someone in the pub; and your contact will do their best to make sure you're prepared.
There's a few ways you can make your contribution on air - the information below will give you some detail on each method:
If you're visiting out studios, you'll find directions and parking information by clicking here.
We advise you arrive at the studio between 15 and 30 minutes before you're due to be on air, so you have time to make yourself comfortable and grab a drink.
The presenter, or their producer, will meet you and give you an idea of how things will progress. You'll be asked to sit in our green room area until a point you can be brought into the studio nearer to the time you're due to go live.
The show team will seat you and introduce you to the presenter - they'll also position your microphone so you can be heard.
iPDTL and ZOOM
If you can't get into the studio, we welcome contributions remotely - especially using ipDTL or Zoom.
This web based software allows for broadcast quality connections through IP technology - all you need is a computer (PC or Mac) and a microphone - ideally an external mic, but if your environment is quiet, a built in mic on your device may be suitable.
It's also important that you have a set of headphones connected to your device to stop loopback of the audio.
If you're using Zoom, the show team will send you an invitation and a meeting ID - all you need to do is click the link and put the ID into the box to be added to the call.
If you're using ipDTL, click this link and then follow the instructions.
We can also accept contributions by telephone.
If you're happy to give us a contact number, we can call you back. Alternatively, you can call the studio on 01384 821025. Your contact will advise you of the best time.
I would like to invite you to join me on my programme 'Friday Night Clive' to talk about <subject matter>
‘Friday Night Clive’, is a live transmission every Friday evening from our studios in Brierley Hill, between 8pm – 10pm. It is a programme where we are able to talk about more sensitive subjects but at the same time give them the awareness that they deserve. We also support and promote the work of charitable organisations on the programme. If you are interested, we ask contributors to be available between 8:15pm – 8:45pm OR 9:15pm – 9:45pm.
We appreciate that this is an evening show, so we are happy to talk over the telephone instead of in person if this is better for you. If you would like to speak over the phone, please provide a landline number if possible as opposed to a mobile number. Landlines produce better quality audio and are not prone to 'dropping out' unlike mobile telephones. If you have access to ipDTL facilities, this can also be accommodated.
If you would be able to take part in the show, have any queries or anything else, then please drop me an email with your availability for the next few Fridays and we will confirm back to you.
