NEWS: Stand-Up for Daisy - A Night of Comedy in Aid of Reverse Rett

Daisy is four years old and lives in Stourbridge. When she was two, Daisy was diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder called Rett Syndrome, which has left her unable to walk and talk and with a range of physical health problems – including difficult to manage epilepsy.

The parent-led charity, Reverse Rett, are the only organisation in the UK funding scientific research into better treatments for the Syndrome. There is also genuine hope that a cure is possible, but progress is slow without the right funding.

All money raised from the night will go directly to Reverse Rett and will help fund research that provides real hope for Daisy and many other girls like her.

The show will feature the talents of James Acaster, Ivo Graham, Lindsey Santoro, Danny Clives and your MC for the night; Andy Robinson.

James Acaster is one of the most brilliant and distinctive young comedians of his generation. A whimsical master, he has received acclaim from around the world, including a record breaking 5 consecutive nominations for ‘Best Comedy Show’ at the Edinburgh Fringe Festivals, and winning the 2015 Chortle Award for Best Show, and Best International Show Award at the 2014 New Zealand International Comedy Festival.

Apologetic Eton and Oxford alumnus, Ivo Graham, started stand-up in 2009 at the age of eighteen and eight months later became the youngest ever winner of the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny award for new acts at the Edinburgh Fringe. Since graduating three years later he has become a regular fixture in the clubs and theatres of the UK circuit and has shown his face on multiple TV and radio shows including Live At The Apollo and Mock The Week.

Lindsey Santoro hails from Birmingham and has been active on the Midlands comedy circuit since 2014. She made the semi-finals of the BBC New Comedy Awards in 2016 and describes her style as a mix of the down-to-earth and the madcap.

The show takes place at Stourbridge Town Hall on Friday 26 October 2018 and tickets, priced at £17.50, are available now from boroughhalls.co.uk or by calling 01384 812812.
