American Burger Giant Creates New Jobs At Shopping Centre

The restaurant has bought an additional 35 jobs to the local area including five managerial positions.

American burger giant Five Guys opened the doors to their brand new restaurant at intu Merry Hill this week.

The 102-cover restaurant is the first Five Guys branch to open in the Black Country, and has bought an additional 35 jobs to the local area including five managerial positions. Burger fan Tony Hill, age 65, from Quarry Bank, was the first customer to enjoy a meal in the newly opened restaurant. He said:

“I’m really pleased Five Guys has opened in the centre. I told all of my friends yesterday that its opening today; it's definitely been worth the wait!”

Five Guys prides itself on the freshness of its food and the quality of its produce. There are no freezers or microwaves on site and all of the food is prepared daily and cooked from scratch; even down to the hand-cut fries.

With a choice of 15 different toppings on offer the chain’s custom-built burgers have developed a cult-like following despite only launching in the UK in 2013. The new restaurant will also be the first in the centre to feature a Coca-Cola freestyle drinks machine, which offers over 125 different combinations of drinks. A spokesperson for Five Guys said

“We’re thrilled to announce the opening of our 55th Five Guys restaurant at intu Merry Hill and were excited to see how shoppers reacted on launch day.

Five Guys success is down to our simple approach in serving fresh, quality burgers and fries in a clean, friendly environment. Our belief is that every burger should be bespoke, so we give our customers complete control over their order.”
