Best Foot Forward For The Black Country

Thousands of runners will be pounding the streets of Halesowen as part of this year’s Black Country Festival.

The Mayor of Dudley joined Black Country Run organisers and festival representatives at Dudley Council House to encourage people to sign up to the race on July 3rd.

Runners will be taking part in 10k and 5k races which have been organised by Halesowen and Rowley Regis Rotary Club.

The run is part of a number events throughout July which includes Black Country Day on July 14th. The Mayor and Mayoress will be taking part in the 5k race. Cllr Mohammed Hanif, Mayor of Dudley, said:

“The Black Country Run is always a popular event and showcases everything that is great about the community in Halesowen.

"The Mayoress and I will be taking part in the five kilometre event and we’re really looking forward to meeting people along the route on the day.”

The run will start and finish in the town centre and raise money for a string of charities. The 10k run costs £12 to enter or £10 for the 5k race. Family and children’s tickets are also available. To register visit theblackcountryrun.com
