Black Country charity event to showcase local talent

The Gentlemen Songsters Male Voice Choir will be hosting an event with a difference to bring together talented individuals and groups at Brierley Hill Civic Hall next month.

The ‘Black Country Showcase’ will take to the stage on Thursday 7th July at 7.30pm.  The Songsters themselves will be singing a few pop classics and will be joined by Brierley Hill Musical Theatre Company.

Joining them will be former Miss Black Country, Alexandra Darby with numbers from her Celine Dion Tribute and local multi-talented performer, Chris Passey.

Black Country Gaz will also be singing and strumming his guitar alongside local comedian and Black Country Radio presenter, Jonny Cole who will be joined by Marlene Watson, the Black Country Wench.

There will also be a guest appearance by Ukranian singer, Olaksandra and a bucket collection for the Ukraine appeal will take place at the end of the evening. Proceeds of ticket sales will be split between Mary Stevens Hospice and Wonder Years International, which supports humanitarian projects in some of the poorest parts of the world. Chairman of the Gentlemen Songsters Phil Holden said:

“For some time now we’ve spoken about a major concert and, emerging from the Covid pandemic a small group got together to make this wonderful event a reality.

"It should be a brilliant evening packed full of diverse Black Country talent supporting wonderful deserving causes. We urge people to order their tickets early - we expect the show to be a sell out”.

Tickets for the evening are priced at £16 for individuals or £90 for a table of six and can be ordered via the Gentlemen Songsters website at gentlemensongsters.com.
