Black Country Zeppelin raids commemorated 100 years on

Sandwell Council will be commemorating the zeppelin raids which took place over Tipton and Wednesbury 100 years ago this weekend.

Dozens were killed and buildings were destroyed as bombs rained down on the Black Country during the First World War.

The area was targeted by mistake when a German airship pilot mistook Wednesbury for Merseyside.

Council and civic leaders will be holding a series of events on Saturday and Sunday, to remember those who lost their lives.
