Boy arrested following stabbing in Dudley

A 17-year-old boy from Dudley will appear before Wolverhampton Magistrate’s Court today charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon. 

The boy, who can’t be named because of his age, is accused of stabbing another 17-year-old by on Malthouse Drive, Dudley at around 7:45pm on Sunday 30 January. The boy remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital. 

The suspect was arrested on the evening of Wednesday 2 February. Chief Superintendent Kim Madill from Dudley Police said:

“This was a violent attack and our thoughts go out to the victim and his family.

“Violence amongst young people is a key priority for partners in Dudley and we continue to work with the West Midlands Violence Reduction Unit to understand the underlying causes and ensure we do everything we can to prevent further tragedies such as this one in the future.”
