Brierley Hill Road Blocked Leading To Tailbacks After Bus Tyre Bursts

Tailbacks of up to an hour were caused on a main route after a tyre on a bus burst.

The incident happened on Brettell Lane in Brierley Hill just after 11am this morning. Passengers were evacuated from the double decker bus as a precaution.

Crews from Brierley Hill fire station and Travel West Midlands attended. West Midlands Fire Service spokesperson, Matt Smith, said:

"We received a call at 11.07am, where one double decker bus had blown its rear tyre causing delays in the area.

"There was no sign of any fire and the bus had been evacuated of passengers on our arrival. Representatives from Travel West Midlands were in attendance."

Police officers attended the scene to redirect traffic, although no road closures were in place.

The road was cleared just after midday.
