Council appeals for pallets for annual bonfire

Sandwell Council is appealing for firms to donate any unwanted pallets to ensure a big blaze at its bonfire and fireworks event next month.

The event organisers are looking for unbroken pallets for the bonfire at Dartmouth Park in West Bromwich. Councillor Bill Gavan, Sandwell Council's cabinet member for leisure, said:

"We're pleased to be putting on bonfire and firework event that will offer fun for all the family. The event is always very popular with families and we are appealing for local companies to come forward to donate unwanted pallets to ensure a big bonfire."

The council is hosting the event on Friday 2 November, at Dartmouth Park, West Bromwich. Any companies that can provide unbroken pallets leading up to the day of the bonfires can phone 0121 569 8276.

Admission charges apply with tickets available at discounted rates online. Adults £5, children £3 and family tickets at £12. Under twos are free.

Gates open at 5pm with bonfire being lit at 6.30pm and fireworks display starting at 7.45pm. To book your tickets visit sandwell.gov.uk/bonfirenight.
