Council leader back in the video hot seat

The leader of Dudley Council will again be in the hot seat taking questions from the public in a live video broadcast.

Councillor Patrick Harley will be taking questions on any council issue via Facebook live.

He will be interviewed by the deputy leader of the council, Councillor David Vickers on January 17, from 6-7pm while people ask questions in the live forum via the Facebook feed. Councillor Patrick Harley, leader of the council, said:

“This is an opportunity for people to ask questions on any subject or discuss some of the bigger projects we have coming up in the borough. These are exciting times with the Midland Metro extension and plans for the site of Cavendish House in Dudley and I want to hear what people think.

“There are also a number of consultations we want to hear people’s thoughts on such as the budget and the proposed temporary travellers site.

“The deputy leader and I are always looking for new ways of listening to what people have to say and this is a perfect opportunity for our residents and businesses to raise what is important to them.”

The council held a Facebook live session in September last year which was viewed by more than 1,400 people during the hour. More than 30 comments were also received during the session.

People will be able to post questions to the Dudley Borough Facebook page which will be discussed by the leader and deputy on live video for people to watch.

The live broadcast is part of a series of community forums, which take place at venues across the borough, throughout the month which end on January 22. For more information on your local forum visit dudley.gov.uk/resident.
