Council Urges Residents To Vote In The Mayoral Election

Poll cards are landing on doormats across Dudley borough as people are reminded to make sure they are registered to vote in the region’s first ever Mayoral election.

People will be heading to the polls on May 4 to vote in the West Midlands Combined Authority Mayoral Election. Poll cards are currently being delivered to all homes across the Dudley borough and everyone who is already registered should a receive poll card no later than April 3. 

Residents who do not receive a poll card are being urged to register immediately. 

People can register at gov.uk/register-to-vote and will need to use their date of birth and national insurance number. People can also register over the phone by calling 01384 814740. The closing date for registrations is April 13. Sarah Norman, chief executive and electoral returning officer for Dudley Council, said:

“Registering to vote is very important because it gives people the opportunity to have their say on this important election. It is quick and simple to register and can be done online or over the phone where our staff will be able to help.”
