A man has suffered serious injuries after being struck by a car in a suspected hit and run in Dudley.

Police said the driver failed to stop to help his 37-year-old victim, after the incident on a slip road on Dudley Southern Bypass on Wednesday evening. Speaking to the Express and Star, a police spokesman said:

“We now believe we’ve identified the type of vehicle involved and it’s only a matter of time before we identify the driver.

“If anyone has noticed unexplained damage to a car since Wednesday evening, or any unusual behaviour from a friend, relative or colleague, we’d urge them to get in touch.

“I’d appeal directly to the driver to come forward to us, before we come knocking on their door.”
