Dudley man to appear in court over Stourbridge murder

A man has been charged with murder following a fatal knife attack in Chicago’s on Stourbridge High Street, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Kobe Murray, from The Broadway in Dudley, was remanded to custody following his appearance at Birmingham Magistrates court yesterday morning. He will appear at Birmingham Crown Court today.

It’s alleged the 19-year-old stabbed Ryan Passey in the chest - Mr Passey later died in hospital. Two other men aged 19 who were arrested on Sunday have been released without charge.

Detectives are still appealing for any witnesses who have not yet come forward to get in touch. Detective Chief Inspector Edward Foster, from the Homicide Team, said:

"If you saw what happened or have any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could prove crucial to the enquiry.

"Ryan's family are being kept informed of the latest development in our investigation and our thoughts remain with them."
