Dudley Police Seeking Armed Robbers

Police in Dudley are appealing for information following an armed robbery on Charles Hayward Road in Sedgley.

A 21-year-old-man was approached by two hooded men as he walked down the road with a friend. The men hit him around the head with a hammer before threatening him with a handgun.

Luckily he was not seriously injured and was treated in hospital for minor cuts, bruising and swelling and released later the same day. A £40,000 watch given as a birthday present was the sole item stolen during the attack on Thursday 28 April.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "This is a shocking and totally unacceptable attack, and we are determined to catch all those responsible.

"It appears that the victim was specifically targeted, and although there were two offenders we believe that a number of other people were involved."

Anyone with information regarding the location of the watch, or those involved in the robbery, is asked to contact Detective Constable Judd-Ingram at Brierley Hill police station on 101 or email contactus@west-midlands.pnn.police.uk

Alternatively, they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
