A taxi driver from Dudley has been arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of drugs.

The Uber driver was stopped by police in Sandwell at 11pm last Friday as part of routine taxi safety checks carried out by the local council.

A small amount of cannabis and drug paraphernalia was recovered from the car, which also had two defective tyres. The driver has been suspended from work by the council and an investigation is underway.
