Green bin collections restarting across borough

Kerbside green waste collections will resume across the borough from next month.

The fortnightly service is starting up again following the winter break and calendars have been distributed to households across the borough with details of collection dates for 2019.

Waste that will be accepted in the bins include grass cuttings, hedge clippings, annual weeds, leaves, small branches and small prunings. Animal waste, food waste, bricks, rubble, concrete, household waste, large branches or tree stumps, paper and cardboard, plastics, soil and stones and wire and nails will not be accepted. Councillor John Martin, Cabinet Member for Highways and Environment, said:

"The green waste service has always been very popular with our residents. People should look out for their calendars which detail when they will receive their fortnightly collections over the next year.”

You can also find out when your green waste collection is online, by clicking “Check My Collection Day”.

Green bins must be placed out by 6.30am on the day of your collection. If it is placed out any later, it may not be collected and will be done on your next collection date.
