ITV To Stop Broadcasting For 1 Hour To Support #IAmTeamGB

The broadcaster will turn off transmissions on all seven of its channels at 9:30am on August 27th.

The initiative ties in with the return of Team GB from the Rio Olympics and aims to get the country out of their armchairs for an hour.

Sports clubs and activity groups around the UK have signed up to the program, details of which can be found at iamteamgb.com.

There, you can also sign up, pledge to spend your hour trying something new and find local events across the Black Country to get invilved with.

One of the events taking place across the UK will be hosted by Olympic and world champion Greg Rutherford, who retained his European long jump title last week. Greg said:

“You don’t have to be an Olympian to be part of Team GB.  National Lottery players make a huge difference through the support they give athletes and on the August bank holiday weekend, there is another amazing chance to be part of it.

"There are going to be thousands of fun, free events across the country so make sure you sign up, get involved and be part of Team GB!”
