Junior doctors on strike across the region

Junior doctors across the region are on strike again today and tomorrow in a row over pay and working conditions.

The walk out, which ends on Thursday morning, has seen hundreds of appointments at local hospitals rescheduled.

The industrial action is over changes to terms and conditions, which include cuts to extra payments given to junior doctors for unsociable hours.

More than 280 appointments have been postponed, while a spokesman for Russells Hall Hospital said they were working to minimise the impact on patients.
