Local charity provides bereavement support

A free drop-in session for bereaved adults will be held in Wollaston in March so people can find out more about facilitated group bereavement sessions planned for spring and early summer.

The follow on sessions will provide an opportunity for people to talk, explore coping skills and learn from others. They are part of the bereavement support programme run by West Midlands-based charity, Omega. Programme leader Jane Hunt said:

“Talking about death and bereavement is very hard, but not talking about it can leave people feeling alone and isolated. We all experience loss in different ways, and we can learn from each other.

“Helping one another, listening and offering support are what the planned sessions are all about. The taster is for people to have a chat and find out more.”

The bereavement support taster session is on Friday 18 March at St James Church Hall on Belfry Drive, between 2pm and 4pm. Everyone is welcome with no need to book.
