Local MP encourages residents to take up vaccine offer

Stourbridge MP, Suzanne Webb has encouraged local residents to take up the offer of a Covid vaccine after receiving her own jab at the Black Country Living Museum.

Ms Webb was called forward as part of her age cohort to receive the Oxford/AstraZeneca immunisation at the Tipton Road site.

Medical student, Jamie from Birmingham gave Suzanne her jab on the day that it was announced that half of the UK’s adult population have had one dose of the vaccine. Ms Webb said:

“It was a surprisingly emotional moment for me to receive the jab and I thank Jamie and everyone based at the Black Country Museum for all they are doing to protect the West Midlands population from the virus.

“It’s such an efficient operation from beginning to end and I could see others were relieved and very happy to be getting their dose too. It’s been a very long year with many challenges but this vaccination roll-out is quite superb.

“I was particularly pleased I received the Oxford jab because it’s safe and effective and it’s important that MP's and other public figures show their utmost confidence in it by having it themselves.

“Can I please ask everyone who is called forward to go and have their injection – it doesn’t matter which they are offered. It’s everyone’s way back to a normal life.”
