Local MP pays a visit to Stourbridge pubs as Covid restrictions ease

Stourbridge MP, Suzanne Webb revisited her student barmaid days during a mini tour of Stourbridge and Wollaston pubs following the latest easing of Covid restrictions.

Suzanne was asked to pull some pints at the Kingsbridge Pub yesterday as she chatted to landlords Jason Thomas Lee Brown and regulars about finally being allowed back inside since Monday. She also visited the Britannia Sports Bar in Wollaston and the Cock ‘N’ Bull in Stourbridge High Street.

Hospitality has been hit hard by the pandemic and Ms Webb felt it was important to show her support for local pubs and to encourage people back in after so many months. She said?

“I had a fantastic time rolling back the years to pull some pints again and it was a great atmosphere with everyone absolutely thrilled to be back inside their favourite pubs and out of the not-so-very-warm weather.

“There was a real positivity too in all three pubs I visited about the future due to the vaccination programme and a desire to make sure everyone can be safe and have a good time.

“I would like to thank all our hospitality here in Stourbridge for hanging in there and adapting to these challenging times. Pubs are one of the bedrocks of our society and I want them to survive and thrive.

“Now they are open for drinks and food inside, please go out and help out our local pubs, and our restaurants and cafés too.”
