Local MP supports cancer awareness campaign at local pharmacy

Dudley North MP Ian Austin will be popping in to the Priory Community Pharmacy today to help them raise awareness of the Turn It Purple campaign for Pancreatic Cancer Action.

Mr Austin will be visiting the outlet, based on Priory Road, at 1:30pm and will meet with staff and Superintendent Pharmacist, Olutayo Arikawe.

The Pharmacy is holding a pancreatic cancer awareness day as a chance for families, friends and communities to unite to show their support for those affected. In the UK almost 10,000 people are newly diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every year, it affects men and women equally. Ian Austin Said:

“I’m delighted to go along to Priory Community Pharmacy and meet with Olutayo and the staff who are raising awareness of the Turn It Purple campaign.

“I think the Pharmacy does a fantastic job helping local people and organising fundraising events for various charities so I’m really happy to support the work they are doing”
