Man arrested for murder after Brierley Hill death

Police have arrested a man on suspicion of murder following the discovery of a man’s body in his Brierley Hill home earlier this week.

The 32-year-old was arrested in Brierley Hill High Street today.

He’s being held for questioning over the death of a 68-year-old who was found collapsed inside his home in Dean Court, The Promenade, on Wednesday evening (25 Aug).

Forensic tests have since revealed the victim suffered ‘blunt force trauma’ injuries to his head and neck.

Detectives carried out a trawl of CCTV, forensically examined the scene and conducted enquiries in the local area and with other agencies.

It helped them identify a suspect and the man was detained by officers from our Homicide Unit at around midday.

Officers are urging anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in and around Dean Court to get in touch via Live Chat on the West Midlands Police website, or by calling 101, quoting log number 3093 of 25 August.
