Murder Arrest After Young Woman Is Found Dead In Kinver

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead at a house near Stourbridge.

Police were called to the property after the woman died in Kenrose Mill, Kinver, yesterday morning. The family of the 26-year-old from the village have been informed, but formal identification is yet to take place.

The woman was found in cardiac arrest and was confirmed dead at the scene, despite the efforts of paramedics who were called at 9.23am.

Her death is being treated as suspicious and a 38-year-old man also from Kinver remains in custody, where he is being questioned on suspicion of murder. A post mortem examination was due to take place this afternoon. Sgt Richard Gorman, Local Policing Team commander for South Staffordshire, said:

“First and foremost our thoughts are with the family of the young woman who has tragically lost her life. We are in the very early stages of an investigation and I would ask people not to speculate about the incident while our inquiries take place.

“If you have any concerns, or information about the incident, please contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 246 of December 18th. Alternatively, you can contact the independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through their anonymous online form at crimestoppers-uk.org." West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman Jamie Arrowsmith said:

"We attended with an ambulance, a community paramedic response vehicle and a paramedic area support officer. We had reports of a woman in cardiac arrest. Unfortunately, on arrival it became clear she couldn't be saved and was confirmed deceased."
