National Express consult on Dudley bus changes

A number of bus services across Dudley are set to change after National Express West Midlands launched an online consultation.

The alterations, which would come into effect from Sunday 27th October 2019, would see route and timetable alterations, as well as the amalgamation of some services.

The majority of changes relate to West Dudley, however some Wolverhampton and Staffordshire services would also be affected. The company have said that In summary, the proposed route changes would bring better reliability and increased service frequencies, as well as a simpler network that is easier to understand.

Proposals would see new direct links between Stourbridge, Wollaston and Merry Hill to Roseville and Wolverhampton as well as more links to Russells Hall Hospital and better coverage for Wrens Nest. A spokesperson for the provider said:

"As with any change to bus routes, some people may lose a direct link or have to alter the time they travel. We will try to minimise the impact of this.

"Overall, we’re hopeful that most people will either see no change to the bus they catch or an improvement with more punctual and frequent buses."

Routes in the area which may change include: 2/2A, 4, 8, 15/15A, 16, 17, 27/27A, 81, 82 and X8. Other routes in the area are unlikely to change.
