New coffee lounge opens at Himley Hall

The new coffee lounge at Himley Hall will be opening its doors this Saturday.

Serving a range of teas, coffees, light refreshments, warming soups, jacket potatoes and delicious cakes it will be open 11am to 4pm every Wednesday to Sunday.

Accessed through the south wing entrance of the main hall, the Himley Lounge is in two of the hall’s larger rooms, looking out onto the terrace and across the lawn into the grounds of the park.

It opens directly into the hall’s gallery space so visitors can also see the latest exhibitions.  The lounge and hallways will also be displaying paintings from the borough’s collection, further adding to the visitor experience.

Saturday (April 7) sees the start of the Amor Lego exhibition, an extraordinary exhibition of Star Wars themed Lego pieces, on show until Sunday 30 September.

Two further exhibitions will be on display in the Oak Gallery from Saturday 7 April to Saturday 8 July. These are a 40-year retrospective of the painter Ron Satterthwaite and A Wildlife Wander around the World featuring a range of wildlife paintings by David Spencer.

The year ends on a high with The Dudley Society of Artists annual exhibition from Saturday 28 July to Sunday 23 September.

As well as the new coffee lounge, the hall will continue to offer its pre-booked, and very popular, high-end indulgent afternoon teas on selected Tuesdays and some Saturdays throughout the year.
