Nominate someone deserving for a Dudley Kindness Award

Act of Kindness

Dudley CVS have launched their annual awards scheme and, this year are looking for nominations for those who have gone the extra mile with an act of kindness.

The team felt it was important to celebrate the community spirit and compassion that people, and communities have shown during the pandemic and will be hosting the Dudley CVS Kindness Awards later this year.

The awards will encourage and nurture kindness by promoting National Kindness Day and Random Act of Kindness Day. However, they won't solely focus on the Covid effort, but will instead celebrate all the great volunteering efforts in communities. The event is about recognising individuals, employees and groups from the voluntary, community and faith sector, statutory services and business - celebrating our local heroes.

Alongside the awards, a local young volunteer who is part of the Dudley Young Health Champions Project has developed a kindness concept, originally related to bereavement, called 'Ask If I'm Really OK?'. Dudley CVS will be promoting the scheme at the awards, sponsoring the volunteer and having badges produced to encourage people to talk about how they are feeling.

There will also be a special 'Ask If I'm Really OK?' award, which will celebrate volunteers who have supported people with their mental well-being.

Staff want you to nominate the selfless helpers, fantastic neighbours, tech enablers, volunteer drivers, brilliant businesses and community dreamers for their chance for borough-wide recognition.

Nominations close on 13th September 2021 and you can download the application here.
