Police have been granted extra time to question a man and woman on suspicion of terrorism offences.

The man and woman - aged 32 and 31 respectively - were arrested in Dover on Saturday 7th December and continue to be held in the West Midlands under terrorism legislation.

The man was arrested on suspicion of preparing to commit terrorism offences and funding/supporting terrorism. The woman was arrested on suspicion of preparing to commit terrorism offences.

The seven-day extension means that detectives can now hold them until Saturday 14th December.
