Police make arrest after Dudley machete attack

Detectives investigating a road rage machete attack in Dudley have arrested a man.

The 20-year-old was held in the borough on Friday night on suspicion of criminal damage and a public order offence. Officers believe they have also identified a second man involved in the attack and arrest attempts are underway.

The incident happened near Jessons Primary School in School Street, Dudley, on Wednesday morning, when a man used a machete to break a car windscreen.

Enquiries have established a grey Mercedes Vito van, believed to have been involved, was on cloned plates.

Detectives remain in contact with the victim, who was not injured but was understandably shaken.

Anyone with information has been asked to get in touch on 101, quoting 20DY/305719K/20.
